What’s the core difference between We and Cloverleaf?
Aggregator versus foundation. Aggregators compete on integrations and breadth; foundations compete on data coherence and analytics depth. When employees sit in different frameworks, there is no common language and no valid cross-organization comparison, and when two frameworks disagree the coaching layer has no principled way to resolve it. On one instrument, every insight, every conversation guide, and every org-level chart draws from the same validated data.
How do We and Cloverleaf compare on the five criteria?
Criterion | Cloverleaf | We by Paradigm |
|---|---|---|
Scientific foundation | 13 aggregated assessments (DiSC, 16 Types, Enneagram, CliftonStrengths, Insights, others) of mixed validity; AI layer not independently validated | WorkPlace Big Five Profile®; Five-Factor Model, 5 supertraits / 23 subtraits; 40+ years of research |
Workforce reach | Teams and managers; pushing toward all-org | Every employee |
Delivery model | Daily nudges in Slack, Teams, email, calendar; situational coaching; scenarios | Personalized journeys, manager conversation guides, team playbooks |
Governance & data | Limited; HR generally cannot restrict which assessments are used; data not portable across instruments | HR controls who is assessed and what is visible; one instrument, portable history |
Org-level analytics | Individual and team-facing | Organization-wide, apples-to-apples across teams, roles, geographies |
Cost structure | Per user per month | Per user per month |
Implementation | Days | Typical launch: days, not months, with a light IT lift |
When is Cloverleaf the better choice?
When an L&D or team leader already runs several assessments and wants them consolidated cheaply, when daily delivery in Slack or Teams is the top priority, when deep Workday integration matters, and when organization-level personality analytics aren’t a near-term requirement.
When is We the better choice?
When a CHRO needs one validated framework across the whole organization, when HR must govern which instruments are in use, when the data will eventually need to hold up in front of a CFO or General Counsel, or when the organization wants a single instrument from selection through succession.
Can you use both?
Rarely necessary. Both are application layers; running two creates the framework fragmentation that We is designed to remove. Organizations moving from Cloverleaf typically migrate to a single instrument rather than layer.
Frequently asked questions
Is Cloverleaf built on the Big Five?
Not primarily. Cloverleaf aggregates third-party assessments, most of which are typing models. We by Paradigm is built directly on a Five-Factor instrument.
Which has better organizational analytics?
We. Cloverleaf’s analytics are individual- and team-facing; We’s run on one instrument across the whole organization.
Which is cheaper?
Both are per user per month. Ask each vendor whether the rate is per enrolled or per active user; at incomplete adoption that distinction changes effective cost substantially.
Can HR govern assessments in Cloverleaf?
Generally no; employees can sit in different frameworks. In We, HR governs one instrument and controls visibility.
